Contests!

I am getting ready for 2 different Lego contests and I hope to win them both. When I won my other Lego contest it took a long time to plan and even longer to build. When planning, we just all start building stuff randomly and think and talk about what I should do for the contest. I make some practice models and think of how it looks and how I built it. Then Mom helps me organize all of the Legos in their drawers and bins, which takes a LONG time, a whole entire weekend! And when it is all organized, and I have a plan, I get down to business.

When I made my castle my mom went crazy because the Legos took over the entire family room for such a long time she couldn't stand it. There were buckets and bins of Legos everywhere and my castle took up the entire coffee table! It was like that for so long I broke my arm the weekend after we organized the Legos and I had the big plates put together to mark how big it should be and I started to build, and had my cast off when we took the picture to send in for the contest. If you've ever broken your arm, you know that's a long time! I was just a little kid then, I was only 6. Now I'm 8 and I've had a whole lot of practice, and Mom has invested in plastic drawers everytime they go on clearance at Walmart, so now we have a corner of the other room for just my Legos. We also have a new dog, that likes to eat Legos and bury his toys in the Lego bins, so I have a challenge ahead of me.

My first deadline is for the miner contest, I've had a draft vehicle put together that MY SISTER DESTROYED because she's jealous. But that's okay, it was my draft model and I need to get this done in a week or so to turn in.

My other, MASSIVE project is the biggest one I have ever entired in my entire life. It's from LIFE cereal and you have to design a Lego creation that will look awesome as a 6'x6' Lego model. I've had lots of ideas, mostly about dragons and dinosaurs and I want to see them all together, but then Mom has a wood building and machine class in college and she has to build a piece of furniture so she has a thing with blueprints for projects with some really AWESOME stuff to build out of wood in, and in the front of that was something she had been talking about building anyways and *lightbulb* I had a great idea. It's top secret, and it's taking SO MUCH RESEARCH and LEARNING, but if we get it to work, I think it's a winner. The winner gets to go to Legoland in FLorida and watch the model builders building their design! They get to tour behind the scenes of LEgoland and meet real master builders!!! I so want to win!!! So we're going to make code names for the projects I blog and I won't give away the final design until it's deadline day and we send in our entry.

Oh, and once we find the cord for the camera, we're going to up load a BUNCH of lego things I just built while I was sick from school. I love Legos!
