Sunrise Over the Snowy Mountains

I made this last night in 5 minutes, when I was supposed to be going to bed. It's the sun rising over a snowy mountain with a waterfall coming down.

I promised more pictures! Okay, I'm off to play video games..

Pictures!

I promised more pictures and here they are!

This is Shadow Duke: He is handful of Bionicle parts put into one guy, totally awesome I say!

Here's dinner! Hamburger anyone?

Someone flew in for dinner to give my burger a try. I used fire ladders for the wings.

Here's another guy I made. He's an ancient dude protecting a mine somewhere on a South American continent.

Here's anther guy I made. He is out of these awesome parts that I guess were from train risers. Mom found a Lego Hobby store nearby and they have all kinds of awesome pieces for sale, most are used, so if we have a special piece we need and don't want to buy an entire Lego set for we can go to the hobby store and they usually have it.

Here's something everyone should know. It's the Bat symbol. I had it yellow throughout but decided to take out most of the yellow. I finally got a Batman minifigure, my first ever two weeks ago and I wanted to make him a bat symbol. So I did.

Ok that's all for today. I'm in the middle of a movie so I have to go.

Lego Firedog Firehouse Contest

Yes people! Lego Derek is still ALIVE and kicking! And Lego-ing! Did I mention Mom pulled my Legos out? Soon I will blog about how she got the Legos into the room with plastic tower drawers and bins that fit perfectly under the bed. I have long bins under the bed for the white, red, blue and yellow bricks as well as a shorter bin for gray and a small three-drawer thingy that is supposed to be for papers but holds my minifigure accessories, colored see-through pieces and jewels.

I had been busy all month building the latest Lego building challenge from the Lego Club Magazine. It was due by June 7th, and we printed our pictures (my sister made one too) and mailed it overnight just in time. You had to build the ultimate dog house for the fire dog.

My mom found this Lego shop nearby that buys and sells Lego parts and pieces. We got those A-frames just for this doghouse. Once we saw it in the store there I knew I had to have them and they would be the perfect 'walls'  for the doghouse. I wanted to make sure everyone could see all the cool stuff inside, but still keep the A-frame shape of a classic doghouse and give it a roof. We've also found some really cool random pieces at the store. We had gone down there in the first place to see if they had the garage door pieces, because I knew  had more red colored garage door pieces but I couldn't find them, so we decided to just buy the individual bricks. When we went in to the store and asked the boy at the counter if he had any, he said he had plenty! So we got them and the A-frames, my sister got a Lego mermaid and fancy lattice/door frames.

Here is my dog house:

Check out my dude on the left! Not on the firehouse, the plastic drawers!

Check out this next pic! We didn't send it in because the firehouse blended too much with everything else and Mom said it was too busy with all the Lego stuff in the background. My Mom and I also thought I looked a little funny and the dog house isn't close enough to the camera. But check out my black drawers, we have the sorter Lego head on top of the drawers and it looks like a big huge Lego dude!

This is the right side of the dog house.

This is the left side

This picture is of the trophy case I made. I just realized you can't see the trophy inside the case though, it was really really cool. There is another trophy next to it and infront of it, but the one inside the case is the best. I will have to take picture of it so I can share. I still have to take a picture of my chandelier in the upstairs room, Mom thinks it's really clever!

That's all I wanted to post for now. I haven't gone anywhere and I'm still Legoing.

April!

I can't believe it's April and I haven't posted a thing!!

We have been busy Imagineering and there hasn't been much time to figure out the computer. I am back in gymnastics and I started wrestling last month. I also will be on the summer swim team as will my sister so there just isn't much time to be home.

I did take pictures for a Lego stop-motion video and uploaded them to the computer, but we can't figure out how to move the pictures into the software that will turn it all into a stop motion movie. Anyways, I need to post more things because I have been telling everyone at school about my blog!

They're BAAACCKKKK

My Legos are BACK!

They were supposed to be in the garage until we moved but for some reason them being packed away in the garage made people buy me more sets. I did also have a birthday earlier this month and, of course, I got a lot of Legos. My mom bought the big triceratops Lego set on clearance for a super great price, so she was able to me a second present-the old Wii Skylander's Giant! WHAT A BIRTHDAY! My Grandma got me an awesome Lego set for my birthday which is the new space galaxy set. So many awesome pieces!!!! SO MANY!!!! I also got some little sets in addition to those.

Then my mom found the Millennium Falcon on clearance, so she snatched it up when she had the money! It was their last one too, so many folks grabbed it when the price went down a third time!!! I can't play with it though, but I did put it together. It has to be used for stop-animation so it needs to remain built.

Then we were at a Lego booth at a hobby show when we saw the Hogwart's Express. It is retired, and mom said we will use that, the Hogwart's Castle, and track down a Diagon Alley for a set...but those will have to stay built when we get them....that's so tough for me.

Those were some big deals on some big sets, and I got a few little sets too, so I kind of got new Legos to replace the Legos tucked away, and that is way awesome. Now the Legos are back out but in our room taking up major space. They're also not organized. I should take a picture of them, then take a picture when we sort them and put everything up. I think I will do that.

By the way, anyone watch the Super Bowl? Did you see our commercial? Really, it wasn't the stop-animation Lego commercial like we tried to do last year, but really it was the same. It was the milk commercial with The Rock; he ran out of an apartment (that's how we start), saves a cat in a tree, runs down the street, stops a bank robbery (they weren't scary gross clowns though and we didn't like those ugly clowns), saves an old lady from getting hit by the bus (same as ours) but then ours goes the police officer stops the light rail train to find his son's teddy bear and catches a ride back lights and sirens with the police and fire department to give his sleepy son his lost teddy bear back. Really, they stole our commercial, and I put it here and on my old website way before they made super bowl movies, and Mom entered the concept last summer when I started the can drive so we could make the full commercial.

P.S. Santa Came!

I just looked at my blog to check the link, and I realized I never reported on what Santa gave me for Christmas, only that he didn't get me the Lego Death Star, but he DID bring me Lego's! In fact, it's all he brought me except for a Hot Wheels set which is way awesome, it goes on the wall and is almost as tall as me!

Santa Claus brought me two Lego Atlantis sets which are way cool! They're really big, and I don't even know how he got them because I haven't seen them out anywhere at all and they're exactly what I asked for when I was 5. He also brought me the biggest Lego Harry Potter Hogwart's castle! It took me all day to build it, and in between building that I built the Atlantis sets. I got so many awesome and unique pieces, I think Atlantis actually had way more unique pieces than any other set I've seen.

The day before Christmas my mom learned that the two presents she was going to give my sister and I, which we picked out ourselves, but in the end she couldn't afford them and she was trying to see if there was a way to save them and she even had to take me out of my gymnastics (I want to be an Olympic gold medalist...and a professional football player, then I will be in the Air Force as soon as I'm old enough) but she was trying to save money and still didn't have enough. She had our stuff on layaway at Walmart, and then Walmart called on Christmas Eve and said a Secret Santa came and paid our two presents down to a penny! And we had a penny! So we got our stuff, my sister got an annoying Furby, and I got-the biggest Lego Dino set! It came with so much, including a t-rex and a couple of velacoraptors-I stood in the Lego section inspecting every Lego set and picked that one out! And thanks to a secret Santa, or maybe the real Santa, I got even though my mom said we probably couldn't get those presents after all! So I got some way cool Lego set! What I thought was interesting was that I didn't get anything I actually asked for, but I still got stuff that I wanted. Thanks Santa!

Anyways, I wanted to update everyone with what Santa brought. It wasn't the Lego Death Star, or the Lego Millenium Falcon, but it was still some cool Legos! Can't wait to see what I get for my birthday!!

Life Cereal Lego Contest Winner Announced!

I didn't win-boohoo! But a 10-year-old named Rachel did, and her sculpture sounds AWESOME!
http://www.quakeroats.com/lifecereal/PromoOver.aspx

My mom, sister and I think it is a great idea, a large minifigure built by little minifigures. I hope to go see it somehow! It sounds neat, I like watching things being built and I love to collect minifigures, so I'm okay I lost to her. I like to tell myself that the contest took so long to decide because they couldn't choose between my Rube Goldberg dino vs. dragon structure and hers. I'll sleep better.

In a little, I'll post the back massager I made out of the Legos my mom let me keep in a small box while we wait to move into our new house. I've also been sneaking into the garage to play with my big box of Legos, I just can't let all those Legos sit out there, alone and unplayed with. It's just depressing and I bet they're lonely and miss their Lego friends. You know what's funny-my birthday is coming up and I couldn't help myself, I knew my Grandma had her gift for me in the back of her car,  because my mom went with her to pick it out and I peaked really fast. I'm getting a Lego set! The box was white so I'm not sure which one, I can tell it isn't Lego Star Wars, Lego City, or Ninja Turtles, so I'll have to see what's left of Legos. Or I can wait a week and see what it is when I open it-but who wants to wait that long!?!

Anyways, that's all for now! I'll catch you all later!

I Miss YOU LEGOS!!!

I miss my Lego's. My mom is ill. It is obvious. She packed my entire Lego section away. Why?!? The pain! The AGONY!!! MY HEART IS BLEEDING!

She said they need to go until we move into our own house, so I'll be an old, old, old, old man when that happens. She'll be so old she'll be dead by a thousand years but she hopes that it will be this spring. That is a really REALLY long time! Have you seen my Lego area? It was a whole room but I guess that was the problem, that it was a whole room.

We're praying for a miracle, that we get our own house but that's not all, we're praying that the house will have an entire room for my sister and I to play in, put the Lego's in and her dolls in and her Lego Friends in, and there will be a wall section that can hold my Hot Wheels. Santa got me a huge Hot Wheels set that goes on the wall, but you have to have three feet of left wall and tons of feet for the right side of the wall, and we had 2 feet 10 inches on the left, so it didn't quite all fit but I got it to fit well enough.

I did hide some Legos in a game box, and a shoe box, and some in my room, so I have something to build but my drawers and towers filled with Legos are emptied and sitting in the garage, waiting for the big day. BooHoo.

And on another note, I'm still waiting to hear from Life Cereal's Lego builidng contest. They were supposed to pick the big winner in early January, but every time I look I don't see the winner. I hope they're just waiting for my birthday, which is coming up, to post my Rube Goldberg inspired Dragon vs. Dinosaur. I wanted a fire-breathing dragon fighting with a t-rex, and thought some Lego sized Lego people should be trying to keep them apart so they don't destory their Lego sized Lego world, but when my mom submitted it right before the deadline, it was rejected as breaking the rules. We weren't sure what rules were broken, because it mentioned Rube Goldberg, as that's the way the Lego people were to move and try and keep everyone apart. But we also weren't sure if it was because my Dragon and Dinosaur were fighting. (I wanted my dinosaur to be trying to bite the head off the dragon) We had to think super hard, and fast, about how to change it and we did, now they were playing tag and Dragon gets so excited he breathes fire and burns everything down. Tag is my favorite game in the whole world. I love to play tag, so we decided they could play tag. That submission took, so if you look me up, Derek, and I'm 8, you can see my paint-version of my submission. We learned the hardest way ever that the scanner no longer works with Grandma's new laptop, because it doesn't hold the software, so we had to quickly put everything into a paint file and submit that-we already took down the display in my Lego area.

so there's my update. I miss my Legos, I hope I win.

P.S. Santa didn't bring me a Lego Death Star :(
